Michael Yoshikami, Ph.D., CFP®, is CEO and Founder of Destination Wealth Management and Chairman of DWM’s Portfolio Strategy Committee. Founded in 1986, Destination is a San Francisco Bay Area-based independent firm that provides fee-based wealth management services to institutional and individual investors.

Michael has over 40 years’ experience in the investment management and financial planning field. As Chairman of the Portfolio Strategy Committee, he oversees the macro tactical asset allocation decisions for client portfolios and leads the development of the economic viewpoints that guide portfolio decisions.

Michael has appeared on CNBC TV in the United States, Asia, and Europe as well as CBS radio and other media outlets. The focus of the media appearances is to provide investors’ insight on current market and economic conditions.

Michael is the author of the book, “Your Money, Your Future” focused on helping investors develop the right investment strategy for their goals. He publishes the weekly investment focused newsletter “Common Sense” highlighting current investment and economic issues. He holds multiple advanced degrees including a Ph.D. in education, an MBA, and has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification.

Craig Gentry MBA

President & Chief Investment Strategist, Executive Partner

Craig Gentry joined Destination Wealth Management in March 2004 and currently serves as the firm’s President, Chief Investment Strategist and Executive Partner. 

Craig has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and currently oversees all of Destination’s research and trading activities. Craig is the firm’s Chief Investment Strategist and leads the team that is responsible for allocation development, security selection and portfolio management for Destination’s clients. Craig is also responsible for developing investment transition plans when new clients begin to work with Destination.

Prior to joining Destination, Craig served as Director of Investments for Ivy Asset Management where he was responsible for establishing and managing Ivy’s first west coast office. Additionally, Craig served as Vice President in the Alternative Investment Strategies Group for Citigroup. Prior to beginning his career in finance, Craig worked as an engineer in the commercial aircraft division of The Boeing Company where he designed structural components for the 777 airplane.

Craig received a Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College with an emphasis in finance and management. At Tuck, he was the recipient of the first Ford Research Fellowship for his research conducted into equity market responses to trades made by insiders of corporations. He also holds Bachelor of Science degrees (with honors) in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis. Craig is married with two children.

Mark McMechen MBA

Managing Director & Director of Research

Mark McMechen is a Managing Director and Director of Research in Destination Wealth Management’s Investment Department. Mark is responsible for the firm’s overall U.S. equity strategy, and also serves as a multi-sector research analyst. Mark has over twenty years of equity research experience, primarily covering the technology sector. Prior to joining Destination Wealth Management, Mark worked as a Research Analyst with The Colony Group and New England Asset Management Group. He has also held positions with Samsung America where he focused on early stage venture capital investments and as a Corporate Credit Analyst at the High Technology Division of BankBoston.

Mark earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley and his MBA degree from the University of Southern California, and also completed an exchange study program at the Rotterdam School of Management in The Netherlands.

Linda Xia MBA

Managing Director & Director of Portfolio Management

Linda Xia is a Managing Director and Director of Portfolio Management in Destination Wealth Management’s Investment Department. She is responsible for the firm’s international equity strategy, and also serves as a multi-sector analyst. Linda has over seventeen years of equity research experience, focused primarily on healthcare & consumer sectors. Prior to joining Destination Wealth Management, Linda worked as a Research Associate with Ragen MacKenzie (a division of Wells Fargo Investments) and an Equity Research Intern with Morgan Keegan. She also worked for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Linda earned her Bachelor of Science degree from San Francisco State University and her MBA degree from Indiana University. Linda is fluent in Mandarin.

George Reel MS

Vice President & Senior Investment Analyst

George Reel is Vice President and Senior Investment Analyst in Destination Wealth Management’s Investment Department. George has over 12 years of equity research experience, primarily focused on the consumer, financial, and energy sectors.

Prior to joining Destination Wealth Management, George held research and data analyst positions at Advanced Forecasting, Capco and Iverson Financial Systems. George earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Santa Clara University and his Master of Science degree in Financial Analysis from the University of San Francisco.
